Having survived the hoodoo collapse, lets hike back down Churn Creek toward the Fraser River. As you can see, I am surrounded with the rich colours of weathered rock. Variations in the chemical composition of volcanic and sedimentary rocks impart an array of colors including the reds and yellows of oxidized and reduced iron. Near the mouth of Churn Creek I discovered a beautiful array of colour which you can see in the Landscape Photo Album.

JN...it won't be long until Churn Creek churns again - I am looking forward to another journey of discovery, this time with my digital camera!

Thanks for the great photos and information. This is one of our favourite areas. Sad to say that the last time we were there (Easter 2006) some yahoos were tearing up the grassland on 4 wheel quads at Churn creek, despite signs telling them they could not enter the park.
